Safety Center
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Crownly is built for families first. Adults hold accounts, guardians control minor profiles, and communication about minors stays connected to guardians whenever possible.
This Safety Center explains how we approach guardian control, reporting, verification limits, and payment safety. It supplements our Community Standards, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.
Guardian-controlled accounts
- Only adults 18+ create Crownly accounts.
- Minors appear as contestant profiles managed by a linked guardian.
- Guardians control profile visibility, photos, and who receives messages about a minor.
Communication with minors
- Do not contact minors directly on or off Crownly.
- Professionals and directors should communicate with guardians about bookings, schedules, and contestant details.
- Report grooming, pressure to move off-platform, or inappropriate contact immediately.
Profile privacy and media
- Minor profiles are private by default.
- Upload only photos you have permission to share.
- Use audience controls before posting identifiable images of minors.
Meeting professionals safely
- Meet in public or guardian-present settings when possible.
- Confirm services, pricing, and deliverables in writing on Crownly before payment.
- Trust your instincts — you are never required to continue a booking.
Pageant and director due diligence
- Read listings carefully — dates, fees, refund rules, and venue details.
- Ask directors questions before registering.
- Crownly verifies platform information but does not operate pageants on your behalf.
Reporting concerns
Use in-app reporting for content or behavior that violates our standards. Email safety.com for safety escalations with your account email and relevant details.
For emergencies — threats, exploitation, or imminent harm — contact local authorities first.
Verification and background checks
- Verified badges reflect Crownly platform review — not a background check, license, or quality guarantee.
- Crownly does not currently run universal background checks on all members.
- See our Verification page for full definitions.
Fraud and payment safety
- Pay through Crownly checkout when offered for the same purchase.
- Never send money outside the platform to avoid fees when platform checkout is available.
- Review Pricing & fees and Refunds & cancellations before paying.
Buying and selling physical goods
- Keep payment, order details, and messages on Crownly. Do not pay a Marketplace seller by cash app, wire, gift card, or another off-platform method.
- Sellers should photograph and describe the actual item, disclose flaws and alterations, ship only to the Checkout address, and use the carrier and tracking number recorded on the order.
- Buyers should inspect an order promptly after delivery. Confirm only when everything looks right; otherwise report the problem before the 48-hour protection window closes.
- Do not list counterfeit, stolen, recalled, hazardous, illegal, age-restricted, or sexually exploitative goods. Report suspicious listings from the item page.
- Carrier scans can be delayed. Crownly uses trusted EasyPost delivery events to start the protection window and pauses payout while a buyer-protection issue is open.
Blocking and privacy controls
- Block accounts that make you uncomfortable.
- Adjust notification and audience settings in your account.
- Guardians may remove contestant profiles or delete accounts per our Privacy Policy.
